Problem

Popularity-based algorithms and limited resources make it extremely difficult for local, indie and emerging artists to be discovered and build sustainable music careers. Many listeners believe discovering new music feels like a tedious task that requires a lot of effort.

Solution

We’re reshaping the algorithm to deprioritise already dominant artists, instead spotlighting local, emerging and independent talent. By shifting listening habits, we aim to rebalance the power dynamic in music. Listeners can connect their music library to Muso and get matched with songs, artists, events, and community recommendations, all based on their listening habits. The product will be a paid platform with 80% of profits being reinvested into life-changing support for emerging & indie musicians, from crisis care from charities such as SupportAct to career building opportunities with indie label grants.
